BabyLink Baby Monitor · Publisher: Franklin
Policy last updated September 12, 2026

Overview

BabyLink is a baby monitor that connects two phones directly to each other over Bluetooth. It works without the internet, without accounts, and without any servers. This policy explains what the app uses and where it goes.

The short version

BabyLink does not collect any data. The developer never receives your photos, sound, messages or anything else. Photos, sound and messages travel only between your two phones, directly over Bluetooth, and are encrypted end to end. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no accounts.

What the app uses, and why

Camera: to take the photos and live video that the baby phone sends to the parent phone.

Microphone: to send live sound from the baby phone, and for "Hold to talk" from the parent phone.

Bluetooth / Nearby devices: to find the other phone running BabyLink and connect to it. On Android 10 and 11, Android requires the Location permission for Bluetooth scanning; BabyLink does not use your location.

Notifications: to show that the monitor is running and to alert you if the connection is lost, the phones get out of range, or the baby phone's battery is low.

Name you choose: shown to the other phone so you can tell the phones apart. It is stored only on your phone.

Battery level and Bluetooth signal strength: shared with the other phone so it can warn you about a low battery or weak signal.

Where your data is stored

Photos you receive or send are saved inside the app on your phone so you can view them later. You can delete them at any time in Settings > Photos on this phone, or by uninstalling the app. Photos are only copied to your phone's gallery if you choose to save them. Sound is played live and is not recorded. Chat messages are kept in memory only while the app is running.

Sharing

BabyLink does not share data with the developer or any third party. Data only goes to the other phone you connect to. If you choose to share a photo or GIF (for example with the Share button), it goes to the app you pick, under that app's privacy policy.

Security

The connection is a direct Bluetooth Low Energy link between the two phones and does not pass through the internet. Everything sent over it (photos, video, sound and messages) is encrypted end to end with AES-256-GCM, using keys the two phones agree on themselves (ECDH P-256) with a fresh key for every connection. The first time two phones connect, both show a 6-digit code that you confirm matches, so no other device can pretend to be one of your phones. Each phone's security key is stored only on that phone.

Children

BabyLink is made for parents and caregivers. It is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
