Ten countries enter the rollout
Google is expanding ads in AI Mode to ten countries, according to its Search Ads announcement. The markets are Australia, Canada, India, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines and Singapore.
The company says additional locales, including Brazil, Mexico and the United Kingdom, are planned for the fourth quarter of 2026. Those are future expansion plans rather than countries included in the current ten-market list. Ads in follow-up queries are another distinct change: Google says it is launching those multiturn placements in the United States.
Sponsored content inside longer searches
Google says AI Mode queries are, on average, three times longer than traditional searches. It presents that conversational context as a way to better match a request with relevant businesses and services.
The announcement also says sponsored and organic product-list items already have similar click-through rates within AI Mode. That is Google’s reported comparison for that setting. It is not a promised result for an advertiser, a claim that every ad format performs equally, or evidence about conversions after a click.
What changes for readers and businesses
Google says the ads will be clearly labelled “Sponsored.” For people using AI Mode, the practical change is the presence of paid placements within a conversational search experience, with those labels identifying their commercial status.
For a business assessing the expansion, market availability, placement type and observed outcomes are separate questions. The country list answers where this rollout is expanding; it does not supply an individual campaign’s eligibility, cost or expected return. Teams can use the announcement to identify relevant markets, then review their actual account options and measurement before changing a campaign. Google also says it will continue testing formats, so the announcement should be read as a rollout update rather than a fixed description of all future AI Mode advertising.
