TSMC's October 15 earnings release reports growth in third-quarter revenue and profit, with management describing strong demand for leading-edge process technology. The results cover the quarter ended September 30, 2026. They are not a report of a newly completed November period.
What TSMC reported
Third-quarter revenue was US$46.72 billion. In New Taiwan dollars, the company reported revenue of NT$1,494.24 billion and net income of NT$763.06 billion. Diluted earnings were NT$29.43 per share.
The currency distinction matters when comparing growth rates. The release reports a 41.2% annual revenue increase in US dollars and a 50.9% increase in New Taiwan dollars. These are presentations of the same quarter in different currencies, rather than interchangeable percentages.
How advanced manufacturing fits
TSMC says 2-nanometre shipments represented 8% of wafer revenue. Together, technologies at 7 nanometres and below accounted for 79%. The figures describe the company's process mix; they do not identify a separate total for AI customers or establish how a particular model performed.
For readers following AI hardware, that mix is useful context because model capability and compute availability also depend on the physical manufacturing chain. The release itself attributes demand to leading-edge technologies without assigning every unit of growth to a single application.
What remains an outlook
Management's fourth-quarter revenue expectation was US$52.3 billion to US$54.3 billion. That range is guidance, not revenue already earned. The announcement also discusses the expected ramp of 2-nanometre technology.
When following later updates, compare reported results with the assumptions attached to that outlook, including currency. This keeps a supplier's measurable quarterly performance separate from projections and from broader enthusiasm about AI-related spending.
