Insta360 Wave
Insta360 Wave is a tabletop speakerphone for calls, shared meeting rooms and recorded conversations. It combines microphones, speakers, local recording and an AI meeting assistant, Insta360 InSight, in one device.
What it does
The official Wave page describes an eight-microphone array with 48kHz sampling. Five pickup patterns let you change how it captures a round-table discussion, a voice in front of the device, an interview or a wider recording. Stereo requires a USB connection with Wave selected as the computer's audio input.
AI transcripts and meeting notes
Insta360 says its AI chip works with cloud processing to produce transcripts. InSight adds meeting summaries, action items and questions about a completed meeting. Voiceprints are stored locally to help identify speakers, while custom vocabulary can improve recognition of specialist terms. Some advanced features require a paid plan.
A useful first test is a short meeting with two speakers: check the speaker labels, names and assigned tasks against the recording before sharing the notes.
Connections and recording
Wave supports USB, Bluetooth and a dongle connection, with 32GB of internal storage for recordings. It can pair with a separately purchased Insta360 Link 2 camera so the camera follows the speaker. This makes it relevant to teams improving both room audio and video.
Who it suits
Wave suits people who need a reusable room speakerphone and a searchable meeting record. Compare current transcription allowances and supported platforms before buying. Because transcription uses cloud processing, check how your organisation permits meeting audio to be handled and tell attendees when recording is active.
