MaxAEO
MaxAEO tracks how a brand appears in answers from AI search and assistant products. Its main value is the answer history: teams can inspect what was said, which sources were cited, and how a competitor appeared in the same monitored response instead of relying only on a summary score.
Keep the answer behind the metric
The platform lists eight supported engines, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot, Grok, Google AI Mode, and AI Overviews. MaxAEO says it asks questions daily as a real user and keeps the answers and cited sources for replay. That is the publisher's description of its collection method, not an independent guarantee that every observed answer is representative of all users.
Brand mention rate describes the monitored answers, not the brand's share of the entire internet or AI market. Review the prompts, engines, and competitor set alongside the number. A change could reflect a different answer, source selection, or monitored question rather than a broad change in customer awareness.
The documentation describes setting up a website, brand, competitors, prompts, and engine choices. Configuration changes affect subsequent monitoring runs; they do not rewrite historical data. Keep that distinction in mind when comparing results before and after adjusting a campaign.
Recommendations still need an editorial decision
MaxAEO also offers an optimization feature described as beta, with weekly priorities and content recommendations. These can guide an investigation into missing information or weak coverage, but the useful next step is to check the actual answer and cited page before changing your own content.
A draft recommendation should be reviewed for accuracy, relevance, and whether it answers a real customer question. MaxAEO does not promise rankings. Publishing more pages is not automatically the right response to a visibility gap, especially when an existing page could explain the subject more clearly.
Plans determine what you actually monitor
The Starter offer lists one brand, ten prompts, any four of the eight AI platforms, five competitors per brand, and one year of history. The homepage shows $19 per month and a separate $180 annual charge; verify the billing option at checkout rather than treating them as the same payment schedule.
A seven-day trial is advertised without a card. Monitoring pauses when the trial ends if no plan is purchased, while collected data is retained. Check the current pricing page and the selected engines before starting: a smaller, carefully chosen prompt set is easier to interpret than a score whose underlying questions no longer match the business.
