Better Analyst combines data questions, dashboards and recurring reporting
Ask a question and inspect the work
Better Analyst, formerly Formula Bot, brings conversational data analysis, dashboards and recurring workflows into one application. Users can upload files or connect sources such as spreadsheets, analytics platforms and databases, then ask questions in ordinary language.
The product page says answers show the SQL or Python behind them. That is a useful review surface: a chart’s appearance alone cannot reveal whether a filter, join or metric definition was appropriate. The visible calculation is something a team can compare with its own understanding of the data.
Turn an analysis into a recurring workflow
The platform includes scheduled reports, threshold and change alerts, and Data Flows that repeat transformations and deliver results to destinations such as Google Sheets or a warehouse. Projects group a client’s sources, chats and related work.
The site distinguishes daily refreshes on paid plans from hourly Data Flows available on Team. It also describes per-viewer row access and free dashboard viewers on Team, while SSO, SCIM and audit export are Enterprise features. Those boundaries matter when comparing a personal analysis task with a client-facing service.
Chat and bulk processing use different allowances
Better Analyst says chat, charts and dashboards do not consume AI credits. Bulk PDF processing, enrichment and research use credits, with separate allowances and top-ups. Unlimited chat therefore should not be interpreted as unlimited bulk processing.
For an evaluation, start with a dataset whose totals and definitions are already known. Check a generated result and its calculation, then test one scheduled delivery before adding more sources. The product combines useful workflow components, but its own FAQ notes that accuracy depends on the data and the clarity of the question. An automated schedule needs a verified analysis underneath it, not simply a polished dashboard.
