DraftKey adds autocomplete and rewriting to compatible Mac text fields. The official product page says its writing model runs on the Mac and works offline after setup, so ordinary writing does not need to be pasted into a cloud chatbot.

Continue or revise your own text

Autocomplete suggests the next words while you type. Pressing Tab accepts a suggestion; continuing to type ignores it. Writing tools can act on a selection or the current paragraph, with options for shorter text, clearer wording and changes in tone.

The user reviews the rewrite before inserting it. The website’s interactive writing previews are labelled prepared examples rather than live AI, an important distinction when evaluating what the demonstration proves.

Requirements and compatibility

DraftKey requires an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 14 or later. Its page lists at least 8 GB of memory and approximately 2.2 GB of free space for the model download, with additional room for the application. Intel Macs are excluded.

Text-field support depends on macOS Accessibility. Some custom editors and secure fields are excluded, and users can disable DraftKey in individual apps. Check the installation guide and the editors you actually use before buying.

Licence and local extras

The captured price is $4.99 USD once for a lifetime licence covering up to three Macs the buyer owns. The publisher says this does not guarantee every future major version. There is no free AI trial or automatic money-back guarantee; statutory refund rights remain separate.

The model works offline after download, while activation and update checks still need internet access. Clipboard history and mechanical keyboard sounds can operate independently of the AI model. Clipboard history keeps the latest ten text copies locally and offers controls to pause recording or clear saved items. That extra history deserves its own settings review, even when the writing model stays local.
