MirrorCut is a browser-based AI video editor for turning recordings into ads, Shorts, Reels and finished videos. You provide footage and describe the edit; the agent creates a first cut that can be refined through chat or directly on a timeline.

Review changes instead of accepting a finished black box

The publisher describes removing dead air, filler words and retakes, adding captions and finding shorter moments within a longer recording. AI changes are highlighted on the timeline with Accept and Revert controls, and manual edits share the same undo history.

That makes the review step part of the product's workflow. Before exporting an interview or testimonial, listen through the transitions and check whether cuts preserve what the speaker meant. An automatically selected hook is a suggestion about the footage, rather than evidence that the resulting ad will perform well.

Separate current exports from planned ones

The page lists SRT and VTT captions and MP4 exports up to 4K as available. Premiere Pro XML, OpenTimelineIO and After Effects script exports are marked as coming soon. Someone expecting to finish a cut in another editor should check that distinction before building a workflow around an unavailable handoff.

The site also distinguishes its own launch ad, edited with MirrorCut, from previews of a product-ad studio still being built. Those previews should not be read as confirmation that all demonstrated prompt-to-ad features are already shipping.

Check the trial and test one recording

MirrorCut supports common video, image and audio uploads and advertises several aspect ratios with speaker-following reframing. Each extracted short opens as an editable timeline.

At capture time, the seven-day Creator trial required a card, followed by a paid plan. Expensive steps such as full-resolution renders ask before running. A practical evaluation is one representative recording: compare the transcript and cuts, correct the captions, inspect reframing and export in the format you actually need. This checks the editor's fit without assuming its generated decisions are ready to publish unchanged.
