A workspace for visual production
Runway Creative combines video, image and audio generation and editing in a cloud workspace. Runway's product overview identifies Creative as a separate platform alongside Runway Dev and Runway Robotics. This entry covers the creative application, rather than the developer API or robotics tools.
The generative-video guide recommends accessing the application in Chrome and also lists iOS and Android apps. It describes a workflow for making a generation, inspecting the result and continuing to edit or generate alternatives.
Choose how to build a shot
Runway lists four ways to work: Tools, Apps, Agent and Workflows. Tools provides a generation interface with control over inputs and settings. Apps offers experiences for particular use cases that reduce manual prompting. Agent creates multi-shot videos through conversation, while Workflows uses a node-based editor for customized creative pipelines.
Using Tools, Apps or Agent creates a Session that organizes generated outputs. For an initial experiment, choose one short scene and keep its variations together. That makes it easier to compare changes in motion or framing without treating unrelated generations as a single project.
The guide documents text-to-video and image-to-video generation. For image-to-video, Runway recommends describing the desired motion rather than repeating the image's contents. For text-to-video, it recommends describing both visual elements and motion. Those are prompting instructions, not evidence that a specific prompt will produce a consistent or production-ready shot.
Iterate and check the cost of the selected model
After a generation finishes, the Use control offers ways to continue working with that output. You can also adjust the prompt and generate another version. Review the actual clip for unwanted changes before incorporating it into a larger edit.
The guide presents several model choices with different generation-speed and credit tradeoffs. Check the selected model and current account allowance before committing to a batch. The captured sources do not establish a universal price per clip, export specification or unlimited free allowance. A suggested evaluation is to compare a few controlled variations against the intended scene, rather than relying on the homepage's quality claims.
