Chrome extension

SimIntpr

Translates YouTube captions into your language and speaks them aloud as the video plays, acting like a live interpreter.

What it does

SimIntpr translates YouTube captions into your language and reads them aloud with synthetic voices while the video plays in Chrome. It is for viewers who want to hear a video in their own language, much like listening to an interpreter.

Key features

  • Translates YouTube subtitles into many widely used languages
  • Speaks the translation with text-to-speech voices in around thirty languages
  • Lets you choose the voice, its tone and reading speed
  • Plays alongside the original audio, with separate volume controls

Use cases

  • Following a foreign-language lecture by ear
  • Watching tutorials while doing something else
  • Listening to news videos in your native language

Getting started

Open a YouTube video, choose one of its official subtitles as the source, then pick your target language and voice settings in the extension.

Good to know

The video must have at least one official subtitle track for it to work. Synthetic voices may not capture tone or names accurately.
