Key features

  • Converts YouTube subtitles into spoken audio with synthetic voices
  • Offers a large set of voices across many languages and variants
  • Turns the spoken subtitles on or off with a single click
  • Lets you choose the interface language and the voice language

Use cases

  • Listening to a foreign-language video without reading captions
  • Following a video while looking away from the screen
  • Making subtitled content easier to follow for people who find reading hard

Getting started

Pin the extension, open a YouTube video with subtitles and click the voice icon that appears, then pick your voice language.

Good to know

It only works on YouTube videos that have subtitles. The voices are generated by third-party speech services from Google and Microsoft.
