What does “Narrow AI” mean?

Narrow AI: AI built and trained to do one specific task or a small set of related tasks well. It can be very capable within that scope but cannot transfer its skill to unrelated problems. Nearly all AI in use today is narrow in this sense, though general-purpose chat models blur the line.
