What does “Prompt engineering” mean?
Prompt engineering: Writing and refining prompts so a model produces more useful, reliable results. Common techniques include stating the goal clearly, giving relevant context, showing examples, specifying the output format and breaking hard tasks into steps. It is mostly careful communication plus testing, not a secret formula.

Adding "If the answer isn't in the document, say so" to a prompt can noticeably cut down on made-up answers.
