Adobe has launched a mobile app for its Firefly generative AI tools, now available on both iPhone and Android devices. This app allows users to generate images and videos using text descriptions and experiment with AI photo-editing tools directly on their mobile devices. The Firefly mobile app mirrors the functionality of the web platform, providing access to text-to-image, text-to-video, and image-to-video tools, along with features like Generative Fill and Generative Expand found in Adobe Photoshop.

A key feature is the seamless synchronization with the user's Creative Cloud account, allowing for easy continuation of projects on the web or within Adobe's desktop applications. The Firefly mobile app also offers a diverse selection of AI models. Users can choose from various third-party options when using Firefly features.

These include Google's Imagen 3 and 4 image models and Veo 2 and 3 video models, as well as OpenAI's image generator. This integration of multiple AI models provides users with a broader range of creative possibilities and allows them to experiment with different generative AI technologies within a single platform.

The app experience is designed to be intuitive, optimized for mobile layouts, and accessible for creatives on the go. Alongside the mobile app, Adobe is expanding the capabilities of its Firefly Boards platform, a collaborative whiteboard tool. New video generation features have been added, allowing users to remix uploaded clips and generate new footage using Adobe's Firefly video model or third-party tools like Google's Veo 3.

Furthermore, Adobe is integrating new partner models into Firefly Boards, including Luma AI's Ray 2, Ideogram 3.0, Runway's Gen-4, and Pika's text-to-video generator. These new models are expected to be available in other Firefly app features soon, further enhancing the platform's creative toolkit.

Users should note that some Adobe AI tools within the mobile app will require Firefly credits, which are obtained through paid Creative Cloud plans or a dedicated Firefly credit subscription. This credit system is consistent with the desktop version of Firefly, ensuring that users have access to the generative AI features while managing the resources required for their usage.

This model ensures that users can access advanced AI features while Adobe manages the computational costs associated with these tools.
