Google has introduced a redesign of the Gemini overlay on Android, gradually rolling it out to beta users. This updated interface modifies how users interact with the Gemini assistant by shrinking the overlay and repositioning key functionalities for a streamlined experience. The redesign is currently available on select Pixel devices enrolled in the Google app beta, version 16.1.43, and supports various account types, including free Google Accounts, Gemini Advanced, and Workspace accounts.
Overlay Adjustments: The redesigned Gemini overlay now occupies less screen space, perfectly covering the Google Search bar on the Pixel Launcher. It features a text field with a microphone, a ‘plus’ menu, and a Gemini Live shortcut.
