X Games will test AI from Google Cloud for judging snowboarding competitions

X Games is debuting AI judging technology at its Aspen 2025 event, using Google Cloud's Vertex AI to analyze snowboarding Superpipe competitions. This AI will provide real-time commentary, predict top athletes, and offer scores based on factors like trick difficulty and execution.

While not replacing human judges, the AI aims to enhance transparency, fairness, and fan engagement by providing a deeper analysis of each run.
