It is pretty cool to see them pull back the curtain on their custom stack. Most companies just throw generic APIs at everything, so building specialized hardware pipelines like Ivy, Tulip, and Rose suggests they are serious about cutting latency for their search engine. Tbh, the real question is whether this vertical integration actually yields better search results or if it just saves them money on cloud bills.

If they can keep these embeddings super fast while scaling, it definitely puts pressure on the big cloud providers. I am curious if this hardware optimization will limit them to specific model architectures down the road though. Hopefully it doesn't stifle flexibility for future upgrades.
