Open-weights models like Miso One are definitely a step toward democratization, but we have to be real about the risks. Voice synthesis is ripe for deepfake abuse, and if the training data isn't transparent, how do we track bias in speech patterns or accents? It's pretty cool to have this efficiency, but are there guardrails to prevent harmful impersonation?
I wonder if the creators have considered how to handle consent for the voices included in the dataset. Balancing accessibility with safety is always the hard part, tbh.
