What Warp does
Warp's desktop app supports regular terminal work and agent conversations in the same environment. Its agents can inspect a project, run commands, propose code changes, test work, and help debug. Warp also documents support for running third-party CLI agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode with its terminal interface and review tools.
Warp versus Oz
Warp is the local development environment. Oz is Warp's orchestration layer for running agents locally or in the cloud. Cloud agents can be launched from schedules, integrations, a CLI, or an API, but automated runs need a configured environment that defines the repository, container image, and setup commands. That distinction matters: installing Warp does not by itself configure a repeatable cloud automation environment.
Access and pricing
Warp offers a Free plan with its core terminal, bring-your-own AI inference, and limited cloud-agent and collaboration access. The Build plan starts at $20 per month and adds included agent credits, broader model access, higher codebase-indexing limits, and extended cloud-agent access. Limits and prices can change, so check the official pricing page before choosing a plan.
Limitations and data handling
Warp's documentation says some code features, including codebase context, diffs, the editor, and file tree, are not yet available in SSH or WSL sessions. AI features send inputs to model providers; Warp says its contracted providers use zero data retention, and the product also exposes data controls. Review Warp's current privacy and enterprise documentation before using sensitive repositories.
