AutoSprite: generate animation sheets and preview game-ready exports
Turn a character into a set of moves
AutoSprite starts with a character image or text prompt and generates animations for game workflows. The publisher lists idle, walk and run motions alongside custom animation directed through prompts, reference images and storyboard keyframes.
Its broader feature set includes eight-direction isometric motion, character variants, props and motion transfer. These are useful categories to compare against the actual asset list for a project. A generated movement set still needs review in the visual style and camera perspective of the game.
Inspect timing and the exported data
AutoSprite lets users preview motion in the browser, adjust frame rates per move and select the start and end of a loop. Reusable presets save timing, looping and export choices across characters.
Exports include PNG spritesheets, atlas metadata and individual frames in a ZIP. The site describes workflows for engines including Unity, Godot, GameMaker and Phaser, with engine-specific guidance for importing the output.
The publisher also offers MCP integration for compatible coding agents and REST API access on qualifying plans. Advanced Mode can queue multiple animations and track their pipeline stages; team features depend on the plan. Check the entitlement needed for your intended automation before designing a production process around it.
The site's claims about consistent character identity and engine readiness describe the product's intended output. They do not establish that every generated frame will need no cleanup in a particular game.
Test an asset inside the game early
Franklin analysis: generate one character's idle and movement animations before expanding to a full cast. Inspect silhouette, scale and pivot alignment at the size players will actually see.
Import the atlas and test a transition between motions. Look for drifting feet, abrupt loop boundaries and frame names that do not match the animation controller. Saving an approved export preset is valuable only after that small integration test confirms that the sheet and metadata fit the project's runtime.
