vibld: design specifications and portable React projects from a brief

In one linevibld is a public-beta app builder that writes a design specification, generates a portable React project and offers private preview, export and publishing.

vibld is a public-beta application builder for turning a written brief into a React and TypeScript project. Its official overview describes choosing a design direction, recording that direction in a project specification and generating code you can inspect and move elsewhere. The homepage's animated pottery-class example is an on-page demonstration that does not call a model, a distinction the publisher states beside it.

Choose the design before generating the project

You can request three sketches before the first build, choose one or select a named style preset. vibld then writes DESIGN.md with the colors, typography, breakpoints and motion requirements. That file gives the generated project an explicit design reference.

The publisher says a build writes directly into the project rather than waiting for a separate accept step. Its checker reads files against the specification, including colors, fonts, breakpoints, alternative text and reduced-motion rules. A repair is another paid call and patches the affected files. These are described design checks; they do not prove the application handles every business rule or security requirement.

Review privately, then export or publish

A live preview installs the project in a private sandbox and starts a development server. A share link gives another person access until you revoke it. The page says that previewing does not itself publish the result.

Export downloads a checkpoint archive, while pushing to GitHub opens a pull request in the project's own repository. Publishing requires explicit presses in the interface. Inspect the actual changes and test the intended user flow before choosing that public release.

The stated stack includes React 19, TypeScript, Vite and Tailwind v4. vibld says generated projects have no vibld package dependency or required proprietary runtime. Its core is open source under Apache-2.0, and the publisher documents a self-hosted arrangement using three Cloudflare Workers. Self-hosting still requires the applicable infrastructure and model credentials; portability does not make those operating costs disappear.

Read model-spend allowances as a budget

The captured page lists Build at $19 per month with $14 of monthly model spend and Ship at $49 with $40. Free accounts receive a one-time $0.20 trial without a card; saving a card starts a $1 monthly model-spend allowance, according to the publisher. The card-saving statement should not be confused with a promise that later paid services cannot incur charges.

Per-run billing reserves a worst-case amount and then charges actual cost. Before a larger project, check current limits, repair costs and the amount of included spend. Franklin has not signed up, generated an application or independently tested the builder's output.
