RenameClick
RenameClick is a desktop file renamer for macOS and Windows. It reads supported images and documents, or transcribes spoken audio, to propose names based on what a file contains. You inspect those suggestions before applying a rename, move, or both.
Choose a workspace and inspect suggestions
RenameClick has three workspaces: Rename, AI Search, and Auto Flow. Rename handles a batch of files. AI Search indexes a folder so you can describe the document or image you want, then rename or move a result. Auto Flow watches configured folders while the app runs; automatic application is an optional setting.
Analysis and application are separate steps. Compare the suggested name and destination with the original file, edit a name if necessary, and deselect rows you want to leave alone. The Rename workspace keeps up to ten undo entries in memory, and that history clears when the application restarts. Keep that recovery limit in mind before changing a large collection.
Know how much content the model sees
The supported-file documentation lists image formats, PDFs, Office documents, structured text, and MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, and AAC audio. A supported extension does not guarantee a readable file. RenameClick preserves file extensions and does not convert the original files.
Document text uses a trim limit of 4,500 characters by default. For a scanned PDF, the app reads the first page; later scanned pages are not included. Long audio recordings use sampling, with a default analysis limit of five minutes. Audio naming uses intelligible speech and does not identify songs. Those limits explain why a suggested name may miss an important passage.
Select processing and purchase options
With the Local AI model installed and selected, analysis runs on the device without internet. Audio requires a separate Audio Transcription installation. Optional cloud providers receive file content and use your API key; their fees are separate. The Mac App Store build excludes cloud providers. A remote Ollama or LM Studio server also receives content, so its location affects where processing happens.
The free plan includes 100 successful renames or moves per month; analysis and AI Search use no apply credits. The captured homepage lists Pro Monthly at $8 plus VAT and Pro Lifetime at $36 plus VAT. Direct macOS and Windows licenses cover up to three active devices, while Mac App Store purchases are separate. Check the installation channel before choosing a license.
