Veo is Google DeepMind's video-generation model. Its official overview presents Veo 3.1 alongside examples of generated scenes, sound and creative controls. Describe the shot and its sound

Veo generates sound effects, ambient noise and dialogue natively. A useful brief therefore describes what the viewer should hear as well as what should appear on screen. For example, specify a subject, setting, camera movement and background sound before adding a spoken line. This is a suggested prompting approach, not a report of tested output quality.

Reference images can guide a scene, character or object. The overview also describes style references and character references for maintaining an intended appearance across shots. These controls are relevant when a written prompt leaves too much room for visual interpretation.

Plan transitions and revisions

Veo can extend a clip using the last second of the preceding shot. Google also describes first-and-last-frame transitions and camera controls. A filmmaker could use these capabilities to explore a transition between two planned compositions or continue an action beyond an initial clip.

The page includes object insertion, object removal and outpainting. Treat those as separate revision tasks: decide whether you need to change the subject, expand the frame or continue the scene before asking for several changes at once. Review audio and publication needs

Google explicitly identifies natural, consistent spoken audio as an area still under development, including synchronization and incoherent speech. Listen to generated dialogue in full before using it in a finished piece; a plausible-looking scene is not evidence that its words are correct.
