Chrome extension

Ui.Vision

Records and replays browser macros locally, using OCR and image recognition to fill forms, scrape data and automate testing tasks.

What it does

Ui.Vision is an open-source macro recorder for Chrome that records what you do in the browser and replays it, with OCR and image recognition for tricky pages. It is aimed at testers, operations staff and anyone automating repetitive form filling or data collection.

Key features

  • Records browser actions as macros and replays them locally on your own machine
  • Uses OCR and image recognition to find and act on elements by how they look
  • Built-in AI assistant that writes, runs and repairs a macro from a plain-English request
  • Supports macros written in JavaScript with loops, conditions and step-through debugging
  • Can use its own free AI tier, your own Anthropic or OpenRouter key, or a local LLM

Use cases

  • Filling the same web form repeatedly from rows in a CSV file
  • Scraping data from pages as part of a scheduled routine
  • Running repeatable regression checks on a web application

Getting started

Open the extension, record a macro by performing the task once in the browser, then replay it. You can also describe the task to the AI assistant and let it build the macro.

Good to know

Macros run locally rather than in the cloud. Some features, such as desktop automation, may need extra components from the developer.
