Upscaling
Also called super-resolution
What does “Upscaling” mean?
Upscaling: Increasing an image's resolution while adding plausible fine detail. Traditional resizing just stretches pixels and looks blurry; AI upscalers predict textures and edges that were not in the low-resolution file. Because that detail is predicted, it can look sharp yet differ from what was really there.

What is an example of “Upscaling”?
Enlarging an old 640-pixel photo for printing. Upscaled faces or text may contain invented details, so the results are unsuitable as evidence.
