Komos
Portal work for screening teams
Komos currently presents itself as an operations platform for background-screening teams. Its official homepage lists court-record searches, employment and education verification, identity checks, and sanctions or watchlist screening. The central use case is repetitive portal work: navigating a source, searching for a record and collecting structured results.
The publisher describes a show-build-run workflow. A researcher demonstrates a task on screen, Komos turns it into an editable flow, and the team runs that flow again. Browser automation is used where an integration or API is unavailable. This is a specialist workflow product for screening operations, not a consumer service for making an independent judgment about another person.
Editable flows and visible exceptions
Komos lists a visual builder with branches, loops, wait conditions, versioning and rollback. Runs can be triggered through CSV, email or webhooks. It also describes step-by-step logs, screenshots and exportable source material, giving reviewers a record of what the automation did.
Human review remains part of the advertised design. Possible hits, errors and edge cases route to researchers for adjudication, with separate researcher, quality-control and reviewer roles. The built-in Moss assistant is described as building flows, monitoring runs and diagnosing broken portal workflows. Those are publisher-described capabilities; this page has not independently tested their reliability when a portal changes.
Evaluate one verification flow
A practical evaluation would begin with one authorized, repeatable lookup and its existing manual checklist. Compare the automated result with the source record, inspect the screenshots and test how the workflow handles ambiguous matches, missing fields and failed logins. Agree on review responsibilities before expanding the volume.
The homepage describes encrypted credential storage, scoped access, support for several MFA methods and redaction of personal information in stored logs. These claims should be checked against your organization's security requirements during procurement. Komos's language about an FCRA-auditable trail is not an independent certification or a guarantee that a screening process satisfies every legal obligation.
The pricing page lists a trial and a custom enterprise offering, including self-hosted runners and API access. Confirm the actual scope, deployment arrangement and usage allowance with the publisher. Its onboarding description is collaborative: select the first flow, provision credentials through security review, and train the operations team.
