Montage
Montage helps content teams turn long recordings into shorter clips. Its official page describes an editorial workflow for podcasts, webinars, panels, and events: provide footage and a brief, review scored moments, then refine and export the chosen clips.
Guide the selection with a brief
You can upload a video or import one through Google Drive or a supported URL. The publisher advertises uploads up to 20GB and source resolution up to 4K. Your brief tells the system what to look for in the recording.
Montage says it surfaces eight to ten candidates scored for Brief Match and Platform Fit. The score helps prioritize review, while you decide whether the moment actually carries the intended message. The captured page gives no independent benchmark for those scores or guarantee that a selected moment will perform well on a social platform.
Edit words and prepare the frame
Montage supports transcript-based editing at sentence and word level. Deleting text cuts the corresponding video, and you can adjust clip boundaries or remove filler. Reframing tracks speakers when converting landscape footage to vertical formats.
Branding controls cover captions, with choices of fonts, colors, and animation style. Shareable review links let clients or teammates inspect a clip in a browser without logging in. This is useful when a producer needs approval before handing the clip to an editor or preparing the final social version.
Export or continue in an editor
The platform lists MP4 exports for publishing, XML for Premiere Pro, FCPXML for Final Cut, and JSON for custom workflows. These options support both a finished-clip workflow and a handoff for further editing, though access depends on the plan.
The Free plan includes 90 lifetime processing minutes, 1080p export, and a Montage-branded outro. It excludes editor handoff, custom caption presets, and 4K export. Starter is displayed at $19 per month with two processing hours and videos up to 1.5 hours; Pro is displayed at $49 with four processing hours and videos up to 2.5 hours. Both paid plans describe topping up processing as needed.
Pro adds 4K export, custom branding, and editor handoff. Check the duration and processing allowance for your footage before relying on the site's broad upload-size claim. The captured plan cards do not price the processing top-ups.
