Pintame helps writers turn a manuscript or story idea into an illustrated book or comic. Its official workflow guide combines story preparation, style selection, reusable characters and scene descriptions before generating illustrations for PDF or EPUB export.
Build the story and its visual references
You can upload EPUB, PDF, TXT or DOCX manuscripts, write in the built-in editor or use the AI co-writer to develop an idea. Choose an illustrated-book format with artwork alongside the text, or a comic format with panels, speech bubbles and framing. Listed styles include watercolor, digital painting and heroic comic.
The next step defines characters, locations and important objects. You can describe them yourself or ask the service to extract them from the story. Reference photos can guide characters based on real people. These reusable elements support the publisher's aim of keeping visual identity consistent across scenes; inspect the generated pages rather than assuming continuity is perfect.
Direct and revise individual illustrations
Pintame can generate scene descriptions automatically, and you can edit or replace those descriptions. That gives you a chance to specify the characters present, setting, mood and composition before spending credits on an image.
The documented review process allows regenerating individual illustrations before export. It suits a children's book, educational pamphlet or graphic-novel draft when you want to control the scenes while using AI for the artwork. The publisher lists print-ready PDF and digital EPUB output, but a book intended for sale still needs its text, layout and illustrations checked against the intended publishing requirements.
Budget for references and revisions
The pricing page describes pay-as-you-go credits with no subscription or expiry. One credit costs EUR 0.01. A basic image starts at ten credits, and each added character, location or object reference normally adds three. Related-location references have a separate one-credit rule.
The table gives a 22-credit example for a scene with two characters, one location and one object. Refining an existing illustration costs five credits. Text operations are estimated separately by token use. The publisher states that generated illustrations may be used commercially; check the relevant terms and your rights to reference material before publishing a book.
