Table OCR

Reads tables from screenshots, scanned pages and PDFs and turns them into editable spreadsheet data you can export to Excel.

What it does

Table OCR reads tables in screenshots, scanned pages and PDFs and turns them into structured data you can export to Excel. It is aimed at people who would otherwise retype figures from invoices, bank statements and other documents by hand.

Key features

  • Extracts tables from images, scanned files and PDF documents
  • Converts table contents into spreadsheet formats such as Excel or CSV
  • Captures whole tables or specific cells and fields
  • Handles documents such as invoices, bank statements, forms and packing lists

Use cases

  • Converting a PDF bank statement into a spreadsheet
  • Pulling line items from invoices for accounts payable
  • Turning a screenshot of a table into editable data

Getting started

After installing, open the extension and capture or upload the image or PDF that contains the table, then export the recognized data.

Good to know

Documents are processed by an OCR service, so take care with financial or confidential files. Results from blurry scans may need correcting.
