MCP REST Bridge
Connect an assistant to a store REST API for inventory, orders and sales, with gated write tools.
Overview
MCP REST Bridge is a TypeScript example that wraps an existing store API. It exposes store reads to an MCP client and can add order or inventory operations when writes are explicitly enabled. The write flow includes a dry run. It is useful as a starting point for developers who want to see how an HTTP client, tool descriptions and error handling fit together in an MCP integration.
Getting started
Use the repository’s example store API and configure its base URL and credentials. Start the MCP server over stdio or the documented local HTTP transport.
Things to know
The sample uses a specific store contract. Adapting it to a different API requires changing the client and reviewing which operations the assigned credential can perform.
