Twenty
Twenty gives teams an open-source foundation for a custom CRM. Its interface combines companies, people, opportunities, and tasks with dashboards and workflows. You can adapt the data model through settings or build extensions in code, rather than accepting a fixed set of records for every business.
Model the work your team tracks
Twenty supports custom objects, fields, and views, including table, Kanban, and calendar layouts. For a rollout, start with the records people already maintain and identify which relationships need to survive the move. A company linked to several opportunities needs a different structure from a flat contact list.
The developer Apps framework can add server-side logic and React components inside Twenty's interface, alongside views, navigation, and AI skills. The publisher describes TypeScript extensions and a local setup with live testing. Review those changes against a recoverable dataset before replacing a team's working CRM.
CSV import and export are available, while REST and GraphQL APIs and webhooks support integration work. Check a small import for field types and relationships before transferring an entire archive. A successful row import alone does not show that existing automations still produce the intended result.
Grant assistants deliberate access
The pricing FAQ says every Cloud workspace has a native MCP server. An assistant connected through OAuth can read and write CRM data in natural language. Treat that as an operational permission: confirm which records the connected identity can change before asking it to update a live pipeline.
Twenty lists roles and field-level permissions across its plans. Organization adds row-level permissions, SSO, and audit logs; Enterprise adds single-tenant isolation and IP allow-listing. Match the selected tier to the access controls your team needs, rather than assuming the open-source label makes all hosted security features universal.
Compare hosting and billing choices
The pricing page shows Cloud Pro at $9 per user per month on yearly billing and Organization at $19. Enterprise starts at $50,000 per year. Monthly and yearly choices appear, so confirm the term selected at checkout and any workflow allowance.
Twenty also offers self-hosting. That gives you a deployment choice, not an exemption from infrastructure maintenance or backup planning. For either arrangement, test permissions with a real non-admin account and verify how you will export business data before making the new workspace authoritative.
