BookCoversLab
BookCoversLab helps self-publishers prepare covers for Amazon KDP. Its workflow combines cover artwork with checks for trim, spine, bleed and safe zones, followed by a print-ready PDF. The distinction between creating an image and exporting the full cover wrap is important when choosing a package.
Set the print specification before the artwork
The publisher describes a free KDP book-size calculator with trim sizes and dynamic spine width. Use the intended book specification before placing the front, back and spine material. A cover image alone does not provide the complete dimensions needed for a wrap.
The cover creator supports paperback and hardcover work, with AI artwork, typography and uploads for back-cover or spine images on relevant packages. Review text placement, barcode space and safe zones in the preview before purchasing the final export.
BookCoversLab promotes KDP compliance and first-pass acceptance. Franklin has not independently tested that guarantee. Compare the final file with the specification for your actual edition; changing the book's page count or format can affect its cover requirements.
Buy the output, not just generation credits
The pricing page separates AI image credits from KDP export credits. It says AI credits can be shared across cover-generation tools, while downloading the final full-wrap PDF consumes a different credit type.
The displayed AI Print package is $19.99 with one print PDF and three cover generations. AI Print Pro lists $39.99, ten generations and three revisions. The Author Suite lists $59.99 with ebook, paperback and hardcover coverage, twenty generations and five revisions. Confirm which final exports and revisions your purchase includes before choosing based on the artwork count.
The cards label payment one-time with no subscription, but a later FAQ discusses billing-cycle cancellation and plan changes. Resolve that inconsistency at checkout. The retrieved material does not establish one recurring-payment rule for every available product.
Prepare promotion after approving the cover
The site describes a separate mockup tool for presenting the book on social media and in marketing material. Use the approved cover for these previews rather than an early artwork version whose title or layout may change.
The pricing page also lists an $89.99 marketing package with social-ad creatives and expanded generation allowances. That can suit a launch needing more than a print file, but its styling labels do not guarantee bestseller status or conversion.
Check licensing for images and fonts you supply, retain the final cover specification and review the refund rules before buying a digital export. Print preparation and promotional design solve different parts of the publishing job.
