Velt is a collaboration SDK that developers embed in their own applications. Its getting-started documentation covers comments, presence, notifications and shared editing, alongside AI-assisted writing and agent review features. It is relevant to a product team adding collaboration around content or app state rather than buying a separate document editor.
Contextual comments and review
The product's home page shows contextual threads on elements, documents, cells or a canvas. Documentation lists inline comments, a sidebar, reactions and system comments created through an API. A team can attach discussion to the part of the interface under review instead of maintaining a separate conversation with no reference to the content.
The AI section describes text rewriting, multi-step approval workflows with agents and people, and agent comments. A chat adapter can support bots that read and respond to threads. These are developer-facing capabilities to integrate, not a guarantee that an application already has a safe autonomous reviewer.
Shared state and editor integration
The multiplayer-editing guide describes Yjs-based collaborative editing. Its core library is framework-agnostic, with a React hook wrapper and named integrations such as Tiptap, ReactFlow and CodeMirror.
The workflow is to initialize the Velt client, create a store with a unique identifier and data type, then subscribe components to its state. Yjs merges concurrent edits while Velt handles synchronization between connected clients. The guide lists local-first reads and writes with resynchronization after reconnecting.
Stores also support named version snapshots and restoring a prior version. Test simultaneous edits, offline reconnection and restore behavior with your own data model; synchronization support does not by itself define which users should be allowed to see or alter that state.
Development and production boundaries
The pricing capture describes the free Hacker plan for hackathons or side projects and explicitly excludes production deployment. It measures its allowance in monthly active documents, defined as documents with active collaboration. Confirm the production plan and unit definition before rolling the SDK into a live product.
Velt's component and integration lists identify available building blocks, but the captured pages do not establish a complete paid-price or deployment-entitlement matrix. Use the guide for the actual editor or framework you have chosen and evaluate the user-access rules, notification behavior and review experience before launch.
