Image Translator

Translates the text inside images on web pages, such as comics, manga, posters and screenshots, and swaps in the translated version.

What it does

Image Translator reads the text inside pictures on web pages and replaces the image with a translated version. It is handy for reading comics, manga, posters, screenshots and product images that are written in a language you do not know.

Key features

  • Right-click an image and pick a target language to translate it
  • OCR detects the text in the picture before translating it
  • Translated image replaces the original on the page
  • Supports PNG and JPG images and a wide range of target languages
  • Uses Google Translate for the translation step

Use cases

  • Reading manga or webtoons that have not been translated
  • Understanding product labels or manuals shown as images on shopping sites
  • Translating infographics and screenshots shared on social media

Getting started

After installing, right-click an image on a web page, choose the translation option and select the language you want.

Good to know

It works on PNG and JPG images, and image content is sent to OCR and translation services. Translation quality depends on how clear the text in the image is.
