Audio Transcription
AudioTranscription.io converts audio and video into searchable transcripts. Its publisher describes uses such as reviewing interviews, searching meeting discussions, and finding quotations with timestamps. The retrieved homepage contains unpopulated numerical counters, so those counters cannot establish transcription accuracy or adoption.
Choose the recording source
The pricing documentation describes YouTube transcription and file uploads. It lists MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, MP4, MOV, AVI, and MKV as supported file types, with a five-gigabyte maximum for Premium uploads.
Credits depend on the source. The publisher lists one credit per minute for YouTube videos with subtitles, and two credits per minute for videos without subtitles or uploaded files. That difference matters when budgeting a collection of recordings: a ten-minute upload uses twice the stated credits of a ten-minute subtitled YouTube video.
Export and check the transcript
Premium options include timestamped subtitle formats and five concurrent processing tasks. A transcript can support an editing workflow or a searchable interview record, but quotations intended for publication should still be checked against the recording. Franklin has not measured recognition accuracy, speaker handling, or turnaround time.
The retrieved pricing page is inconsistent about some export and Free-tier limits. Its comparison table and FAQ do not agree on whether Free exports include SRT, and the listed file-upload allowances differ between sections. Confirm those limits in the current account interface rather than relying on one part of the page.
Compare credits with a subscription
One-time credit purchases do not expire, according to the publisher. Subscription pricing displays $18 per month or $118.80 per year, described as $9.90 per month on annual billing. The annual plan advertises unlimited credits subject to fair use of 500 hours per month.
The publisher lists seven-day history for guests, 30 days for Free accounts, and permanent history for paid subscribers. It also states that uploaded files are deleted after transcription. Transcript-history retention and source-file retention are different commitments; check the applicable terms before uploading a sensitive interview or meeting.
