Google renamed NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook while keeping it as a standalone research product. The July 16, 2026 announcement states that continuity directly. Readers looking for NotebookLM tutorials or earlier references are therefore looking at the history of the same product, not an unrelated app with a similar name.

Google describes a research tool with an announced expansion into the Gemini app and Google Search. Its examples include business onboarding materials and students turning notes into audio or video summaries. Those examples indicate possible uses; they do not establish that a generated summary covers every important point in a source.
