In one lineAudio Transcriber converts uploaded recordings or direct audio links into timestamped text with speaker detection and TXT or Word export.

Audio Transcriber is a browser-based service for turning recordings into editable text. You can upload a file or paste a direct audio link, choose an output language, and use speaker diarization to separate voices. The publisher positions it for interviews, lectures, podcasts, and meeting recordings, with no installation required.

Turn a recording into usable notes

The service advertises timestamped transcripts and automatic speaker detection. That combination is useful when you need to revisit a particular answer or identify who made a statement in a group conversation. Check the labels against the recording before quoting a speaker: overlapping voices and short interjections can make attribution harder than transcribing a single narrator.

The homepage describes support for more than 120 languages and translation of transcripts. Its interface includes an automatic output-language setting. Choose the language you need and review names, technical terms, and numbers in the resulting text. Translation adds another reason to compare important passages with the original audio, especially if the transcript will become published copy.

Finished transcripts can be copied or downloaded as TXT or Word documents. That lets you move the material into a writing or note-taking workflow without keeping the transcription page open. A transcript still needs editorial judgment if you intend to turn a conversation into an article or formal meeting record.

Check the actual upload limit

The upload interface lists MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, and several video formats, including MP4 and WEBM. It states a 100 MB limit. Elsewhere on the same page, the publisher advertises files up to 5 GB. Those limits conflict, so check the active upload control before preparing a large recording or assuming a long session will fit.

The input accepts direct audio links. References to YouTube and Zoom audio on the homepage do not establish that the tool can join a live meeting or import every watch-page URL. Use a recording you are entitled to process and verify the input type the page accepts.

Review quality and sensitive content

Audio Transcriber advertises free access without registration or usage restrictions. It also promotes accuracy up to 99 percent, but the page acknowledges that clarity, accents, background noise, and overlapping speech affect transcription. Treat accuracy as a vendor claim and test a representative excerpt before committing a large project.

The homepage's privacy slogans do not specify a detailed retention schedule. Before uploading confidential interviews or workplace recordings, check the current privacy terms and obtain any required participant permission. Correcting a few uncertain names in a low-risk sample is a better first step than uploading an entire sensitive archive.
